The Talented and Eco-Conscious Fashion Designer, Valentina Oppezzo

The Oppezzo Collection at the ACFW in February

Originally a fashion photographer, Valentina Oppezzo captured the fashion creations of designers both here, and in her native Italy. However, a few years back, lifestyle and environmental cause, ignited a change for her. No longer did she as a vegetarian, and eco conscious thinker, wanted or had the desire to photograph fashion designs utilizing animal based materials, as matter of fact, she evolved a step further, She began to design her own clothing, purses and accessories line, and as the saying goes, "a star was born". Colorful and urban chic, awesome detail, with materials all non organic, Valentina is a new force in the fashion world, and a nice and gracious person.  I had the pleasure of capturing her collection at the Atlantic City Fashion Week F/W 2015, and also at the Angelman Syndrome FDC Collections Fashion Showcase
in NYC, where I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with her.  Bravo Valentina!! Click on the pictures to see the entire Oppezzo collections.

"Life's a Label" Fashion Show, Empiral Fashionista Group

By Tony Taylor
I had the pleasure of shooting the "Life's a Label" fashion event, held may 16th,  at the TheatreLab,
357 w36th street, NYC. This was also a charity event benefit to raise funds and awareness about the American Heart Association. The Empiral Group, is headed up by the  husband and wife team of
Christopher Steele and Appollonia Rankin-Steele. A venue just right for the show, the event did not disappoint, and showcased the fashion design talents of 5 emerging designers. A poignant moment came when Empiral's Appollonia Rankin-Steele, herself a high fashion model, gave a very personal, and "heartfelt"speech on the show benefiting the American Heart Association, and her, holding back tears gracefully, explaining her connection. I got a little emotional myself, because I could also relate to why she felt so deeply about the organization, and  the cause. It was a full house of fashion industry movers and shakers, media, bloggers, etc,  An amazing event, with amazing fashions.

Focused and Talented, Designer Francoise Desmangles.

I first met Francoise, or "fran"about a year ago while she was a participating designer at the weekly fashion events sponsored by Runway the Real Way, at the Yotel Luxury Hotel in Manhattan. I was immediately impressed with her work, and how focused she was. We collaborated on a few projects, and she was always a pleasure to work with. Francoise was one of the featured designers at the Atlantic City Fashion Week this past February, and she wowed the crowd. I had the opportunity to
sit and talk with  her about how she started and her motivations:
Me: "How did you get your start in fashion, what or whom motivated you?

Francoise: " My Grandmother,..She used to make clothes for me when I was younger, and it got me into designing my own clothes".

Me: Who were your biggest motivators or established designers you looked up to?"

Francoise: Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Gucci.

Me: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years with your work?

Francoise: I see myself with a couple of boutiques in new york city, and los angeles.

Francoise is awesome, and talented and she is ready,..fashion world watch out, here she comes.

The Year In Review, Fashion, Shows, Runways, Models, all that was 2014 Part III

These shows are the ones that ended out the year for me. back to the drawing board for the many designers, show promoters, getting ready for the next season, models, mua's hunting down the next casting. The process begins again. Im looking forward to shooting all of these shows again this upcoming season, plus many more. I normally do about 15-25 shows every cycle. In this writing
I've submitted a sample of the work. Back to grind very soon.

Philadelphia Fashion Week September 2014
Another favorite, not because i'm a philly guy, but because this show is the most
fashion-forward, avant-garde, amazing fashion production rivaling any show held

in Manhattan during fashion week. Well produced, well staffed. An enjoyable show to shoot
