Catching More Runway Magic In 2014

Lets get something clear, I am not a glamour photographer, I don't scan the pages of modelmayhem.com, looking for models to shoot to fill an ever expanding portfolio filled with make-up adorned women in various states of dress (or undress), Its just not what I do, And don't get me wrong, I am not knocking any fellow photographers that do glamour and the like. These guys, and I know quite a few of them, are very talented, and I am in awe of the art they make, I just shoot more editorial work, more gritty. Which is why I write this post. Every time I get the opportunity to shoot fashion runway, I leap at the work, I look forward to it. Why? I'll tell you. The runway is art, its high drama, its theatre. The build up  to the show is easily compared to a major hollywood premier, with emphasis on detail, and the visual. I love it. When I position myself in the pit, I'm already seeking out my visual cues to frame into. All eyes on the catwalk. The model's stride/walk, is a detailed combination of movement, and showcasing, and when its done right, its magic. The expression, the drape and flow of the garment, its a visual story to be told. I recently shot a model casting event in atlantic city for the upcoming Atlantic City Fashion Week, which will be held in February, and I know the selected models will all be ready to be a part of this artistic showcase.
