Well, once again the Wing Bowl has made its way into the Wells Fargo center, and to those who patiently wait each January to witness the proceedings, they weren't disappointed. Present was the plethora of barely clothed women, men to ogle the barely clothed women, beer, and more beer. And lets not forget, somewhere in the midst of all of that, an eating contest. And to that point, I wonder if the actual governing bodies that sanction this "sport", is at all concerned that their "athletes" each year share the stage and venue with the equivalent of a overblown peepshow, with all the fixings, ..I wonder, but ultimately, they probably don't give it a second thought. The event sells out religiously each year, tons of big-time corporate and local sponsorship, celebrity sightings, etc. Its the Super Bowl, A Hollywood Premiere and Gentleman's Club Convention, all rolled into one. But, in all of this spectacle, I saw a contest. I saw focused, determined participants, competing against one another on the stage, and whichever way you would classify this, If your gaze zeroed in on the stage, and not one of the breast flashes in the crowd and showed on the jumbotron at the wells fargo, ( it was many of them) you could sense a real competition.
